Abstract	Fleksotisak se naširoko koristi u industriji ambalaže zbog sposobnosti tiska na različite tiskovne materijale te zbog primjene digitalnih tehnologija za izradu fleksotiskarskih ploča. Međutim, postoje određena ograničenja u reprodukciji glatkih prijelaza koja stvaraju efekt odrezanih tonova u svijetlim područjima i smanjuju raspon tonova u tisku. Stoga ovo istraživanje uspoređuje parametre kvalitete tiska utjecajem geometrije rasterskog elementa i njegove deformacije prilikom tiska. Postoje mnoge varijable koje mogu biti analizirane, ali odlučeno je da se usredotoči na oblik vrha rasterskog elementa na ploči, linijaturu i pritisak prilikom tiska jer ove tri varijable imaju značajan utjecaj na kvalitetu tiska. Prvi cilj je proučiti kako različiti procesi izrade ploče utječu na geometriju rasterskog elementa uključujući oblik vrha rasterskog elementa, okruglost i promjer. Drugi cilj je istražiti utjecaj triju varijabli na osnovne parametre kvalitete tiska uključujući minimalnu veličinu rasterskog elementa, raspon tonova i prirast RTV. Kreirana je testna forma te su potom izrađene dvije fotopolimerne ploče debljine 1,14 mm temeljene na različitim tehnologijama izrade. Glavna razlika između rasterskog elementa izrađenog pomoću standardne digitalne tehnologije i rasterskog elementa izrađenog pomoću napredne digitalne tehnologije je u obliku vrha rasterskog elementa na ploči, a može biti zaobljeni i ravni. Tada su ploče otisnute pomoću cijan UV bojila na aluminijsku foliju na već predotisnutu pokrivnu bijelu boju. Na osnovu dobivenih rezultata definirane su smjernice i uvjeti tiska o tome kako primijeniti istraživane utjecajne parametre za bolju reprodukciju tonova na aluminijskoj foliji. Zaobljeni vrh rasterskog elementa pokazuje veću osjetljivost na promjenu pritiska, što dovodi do nedosljednog tiska, dok ravni vrh ostaje dosljedan i uslijed povećanog pritiska. Međutim, rezultati pokazuju da je prirast RTV kod zaobljenog vrha bliži ciljanoj krivulji. Rasterski element sa ravnim vrhom ima bolje definirani rub i prema tome bolje definiranu tiskovnu površinu. Rezultati ovog istraživanja daju nove znanstvene spoznaje potrebne za jednostavniju i lakšu primjenu ovih tehnologija u proizvodnji te omogućuju jeftiniju i bržu izradu proizvoda koja će za posljedicu imati i pozitivan utjecaj na ekološku prihvatljivost fleksotiska.
Abstract (english)	Flexography is widely used in the packaging industry because of its ability of print on various printing substrates and because of the use of digital platemaking technologies. However, there are some limits in the reproduction of smooth gradients which create tone brakes in the highlight area and decrease tonal range. Therefore, this research compares the parameters of print quality influenced by the dot geometry and its deformation during printing. There are many variables which may be analysed, but it was decided to focus on top dots shape, line rulings and printing pressures since these three variables have a significant effect on print quality. The first objective was to study how the various platemaking processes effect to dot geometry including top dots shape, roundness and dot diameter. The second objective was to research the influence of three variables on the basic parameters of the print quality including minimum dot size, tonal range and tonal value increase. A single colour test image was created and then produced two photopolymer plates of 1,14 mm thickness, based on different platemaking technology. One of the main differences between a dot made with standard digital technology and the dot made with new digital technology is the shape of top dots on plate: round and flat top dots. Plates then printed with cyan UV ink on aluminium foil on the pre-printed opaque white ink. Based on the obtained research results, the guidelines and print conditions are given about how to apply the studied influential parameters for better tone reproduction on aluminium foil. Round top dots show a high sensitivity to change in pressure, which leads to inconsistent printing, while flat top dots remain more consistent with over-pressure. However, the results show that dot gain at round top dot was closer to target curve. Flat top dots have a better dot edge definition and therefore better define the print surface of the dot. The results of this study are provide new scientific knowledge necessary for simpler and easier use of these technologies in the production stage and enable cheaper and faster manufacture of products that will result in a positive impact on the environmental sustainability of flexographic printing.
