Abstract
Predmet znanstveno-aplikativnog istraživanja ove doktorske disertacije ogleda se u znanstvenom i stručnom istraživanju sveobuhvatnosti konjičke industrije s naglaskom na mogućnosti implementiranja konjičke industrije na turističko tržište u svrhu širenja turističke ponude i/ili usluga, te poticanja atraktivnosti i posebnosti turističke destinacije te, s druge strane, otvaranja novih poslovnih mogućnosti za već postojeće sudionike konjičke industrije, ali i one koji će to tek postati. Pojam suvremene konjičke industrije obuhvaća vrlo širok pojam koji se sastoji od niza aktivnosti i usluga povezanih s konjima i jahačima, te podrazumijeva, kako direktan odnos, tako i indirektan odnos s konjima. Kako bi ispravno percipirali znanstvenu i stručnu važnost konjičke industrije potrebno je napomenuti kako ona igra važnu ulogu u nacionalnim ekonomijama razvijenih zemalja kao i da bitno doprinosi socijalnoj stabilnosti zajednice, očuvanju okoliša, zdravlju ljudi i općenito poboljšanju kvalitete života. Ekonomski rast i stabilnost su usko povezani s napretkom i razvojem konjičke industrije što je istraženo i potvrđeno u ovom doktorskom radu. Znanstveno-aplikativnim istraživanjem povezane su turističke aktivnosti s dijelom centralnih aktivnosti koje se ubrajaju u konjičku industriju. Specifičnost ove grane turizma vidljiva je u svim dijelovima od početnog stvaranja ideje o proizvodu i/li usluge do krajnje izvedbe. Prateći trendove razvoja konjičke industrije uočene su i istražene tendencije rasta u razvijenijim zemljama, te rastući trendovi konjičke industrije kao bitnoga elementa turističke ponude koja je, ovisno o prezentiranim elementima, osnovna ili dopunska ponuda destinacije. Konjički turizam orijentira se na dva osnovna faktora koja sama sebe determiniraju: konjički turizam u kojemu turist aktivno sudjeluje u aktivnostima s konjima, te konjički turizam u kojemu turist nema direktnog dodira s konjima niti direktno sudjeluje u aktivnostima s konjima. Neophodno je istaknuti, a što se znanstveno i dokazalo u ovoj doktorskoj disertaciji da je važnost konjičke industrije u usponu i da implementacija kvalitetnoga turističkoga proizvoda i/li usluge neosporno doprinosi ponudi destinacije, pri čemu treba sagledati i sve aspekte konjičkoga turizma i poštivati njegove specifičnosti, jednako kao i poraditi na edukaciji konjara kako bi što uspješnije ovladali znanjem, vještinama i kompetencijama koje su im potrebne za uspješno vođenje posla. Temeljem znanstvenoga, stručnoga i osobnoga iskustva predlaže se osmišljavanje strukovnoga programa koji bi zaista služio i u praksi, kako samim konjarima, tako i konjima u pogledu poboljšanja kvalitete njihovoga življenja, posebice zbog postojanja potrebe i nužnosti za provođenjem osnovne edukacije koja bi morala biti potpomognuta pozitivnim zakonskim okvirom, prvenstveno radi uvođenja temeljne (osnovne) minimalne razine znanja, vještina i kompetencije, te uvjeta držanja konja, odnosno kako bi se uspostavila minimalna razina kvalitete usluge. Konjička industrija se sastoji od niza različitih segmenata koje se implementiraju u turističku destinaciju, međutim ne postoji jedinstven model strategije što je zaključni stav ovoga rada, nego se mora odabrati odgovarajući model prilagođen i adekvatan određenoj turističkoj destinaciji a sve u smjeru oblikovanja specifične strategije i integriranja konjičke industrije. Pri odabiru strategije bitno je postaviti adekvatne parametre i odrediti smjer kretanja turističke ponude unutar destinacije koji je najprimjereniji kako za konjičku industriju, tako i za destinaciju. Lokalna zajednica čini dio destinacije i nikako ne smije biti zaboravljena prilikom stvaranja strategije, te mora biti uključena u stvaranje proizvoda i/li usluge koja će okarakterizirati destinaciju i činiti cjelovit proizvod destinacije. Pravilno i pozitivno integrirani konjički turizam u koordiniranu strategiju, te uz kvalitetan menadžment značajno može doprinijeti, kako lokalnom razvoju, tako i gospodarstvu u cjelini. Osnovna koncepcija uvođenja konjičkog turizma u turističku destinaciju prema provedenom teoretskom i empirijskom istraživanju, temelji se na dvije osnovne provedbe, i to: u slučaju turističke destinacije koja se temelji na postojanju sadržaja vezanih uz aktivnosti s konjima, te u slučaju turističke destinacije koja oplemenjuje svoju ponudu na temelju sadržaja vezanih uz aktivnosti s konjima. U većini destinacija u Hrvatskoj potrebno je samo preoblikovati ili unaprijediti ponudu (s obzirom na već postojeće aktivnosti) koja će se modelirati prema ciljevima turističke ponude, odnosno prema turističkoj potražnji. Također, koncept konjičkoga turizma u sklopu turističke destinacije mora biti temeljen na udovoljavanju želja i percepcije gostiju, odnosno korisnika usluga. U doktorskoj disertaciji kroz jedan novi, moderni, istančan način se daje prikaz teme koja se pokazala vrlo specifičnom, pa samim time i iznimno zanimljivom, za svoje područje. U pogledu boljega razumijevanja i kvalitetnije obrade teme definirali su se pojmovi, nekoliko vrlo različitih područja koji su se zatim sjedinili u cjelinu koja pruža kvalitetan pregled rastuće grane turizma, te se istakla njezina funkcionalnost i naglasila destinacijski vrlo zanimljiva ponuda.

The subject of scientific and applicative research of this doctoral thesis is reflected in the scientific and professional research of the comprehensive horse industry with a focus on the possibilities of implementing the horse industry in the tourist market in order to expand the tourist offer and/or services, and promoting the attractiveness and uniqueness of the tourist destination, and, on the other hand , opening new business opportunities for existing participants and those who are about to become participants in horse industry. The concept of the modern horse industry covers a very broad concept, which consists of various activities and services related to horses and riders, and it implies direct and indirect relationship with horses. In order that the importance of the horse industry could be properly perceived I must note that it plays an important role in the national economies of the developed countries and that it contributes significantly to the social stability of communities, it protects the environment, human health and generally it improves the quality of life. Economic growth and stability are closely related to the progress and development of the horse industry, this is confirmed in this doctoral thesis. Scientific and applicative research is associated with tourist activities which are a central part of the activities that are part of the horse industry. The specificity of this tourism branch is visible in every part of the initial creation of the product idea and/or service to the its final performance. Following development of equestrian industry, growth trends in developed countries were observed and studied, as well with growing trends of equestrian industry as an important element of the tourist offer which is based on the presented elements and it presents basic or supplementary destination offer. Equestrian tourism is orientated on the two basic factors that determine itself: equestrian tourism in which the tourist is actively involved in activities with horses and equestrian tourism in which the tourist does not have direct contact with horses nor directly participate in activities with horses. It is necessary to point out, and is scientifically proven in this doctoral thesis, that the importance of horse industry is growing and that implementation of high-quality tourist products and/or services undoubtedly contribute to the destination offer. Having that in mind, also that it is important to always consider all aspects of the equestrian tourism and its specifics in all areas and layers of industry. Based on scientific, professional and personal experience it is suggested to create the professional programs that would actually serve in practice to the horse owners, horse based businesses, and horses in terms of improving the quality of their lives, especially because of the need and the necessity for the implementation of the basic education, which should be supported by positive law frame, primarily to introduce fundamental (basic) minimum level of knowledge, skills and competencies, and the conditions of keeping horses, and to establish a minimum level of service quality. Horse industry consists of a number of different segments which are implanted into a tourist destination. However, there is no single model strategy, which is the main conclusion of this research. Model must be chosen according to the particular tourist destination all in the direction of creating specific strategies and integrating horse industry. During strategy selection it is important to set the adequate parameters and to determine the direction of tourism offer within the destination which is most appropriate for the horse industry and the tourist destination. Local community is a part of destination and it must not be forgotten during creation of strategy, and it must be included in the creation of products and/or services that will characterize a destination and make a complete destination product. Correctly and positively integrated horse tourism with coordinated strategy, and with the quality management, can significantly contribute, to local development, and the economy as a whole. The basic concept of introduction of equestrian tourism in the tourist destination according to the conducted theoretical and empirical research is based on two basic implementations. In the first case tourist destination based its offer on the horse industry, in second case horse industry is only one of the many different attraction segments in tourist destination. In the most destinations in Croatia, it is only necessary to transform or enhance the tourist offer (based on pre-existing activities), which will be adjusted according to the objectives of the tourist offer, and according to the tourist demand. Also, the concept of equestrian tourism within the tourist destination must be based on the fulfilment of tourist wishes and perceptions. In this doctoral dissertation through a new, modern, refined way, it is given an overview of topic that has proved as a very specific for its field. In terms of better understanding and better elaboration of theme, terms were defined in several very different fields that were then merged into a unit that provides a quality review of the growing branches of tourism, and it has highlighted its functionality as a very interesting destination tourism offer
