Abstract	Mobilne mreže treće generacije koriste širokopojasni višestruki pristup s kodnom raspodjelom (WCDMA – Wideband Code Devision Multiple Access). Kako je WCDMA sustav jako osjetljiv na interferenciju, prije svega što svi korisnici dijele isti frekvencijski pojas, koriste se posebne kontrole snage te “soft” i “softer” prekapčanja. Korisnički i upravljački podaci prenose se zajedničkim ili dodjeljenim prijenosnim kanalima koji se pridružuju u fizičke kanale. Podaci se međusobno razlikuju kanalnim kodovima, a odašiljaći kodovima za šifriranje. Modulacija se provodi nakon operacije širenja informacije kanalnim kodovima na 5 MHz pojas te nakon operacije šifriranja. Radi smanjenja prijenosne brzine različitih multimedijskih podataka provodi se njihova kompresija, a ovisno o vrsti primjenjuje se JPEG, JPEG 2000 ili MPEG. Kod prijenosa podataka zračnim sučeljem, isti se zaštićuju od pogreške primjenom snažnog kanalnog konvolucijskog ili turbo kodiranja uz ispreplitanje i CRC. Arhitektura sustava temelji se na GSM-u i GPRS-u, a u komunikacijskom dijelu mreže koristi se asinkroni način prijenosa (ATM). Sve skupa radi zadovoljavanja ideje IMT 2000 i realizacije globalne mreže, koja će omogućiti mobilnim korisnicima diljem svijeta korištenje raznovrsnih mutimedijskih usluga.
Abstract (english)	Third generation of Mobile Network use WCDMA. As WCDMA is sensitive on interference, first of all because all users use the same frequency band, spatial power control and soft and softer handovers are used. Users and control data are transmited on common or dedicated transport channels which are mapping into physical channels. Chanalization codes are used for separating data channels, and PN codes are used for distinguish different transmitters. Modulation is done after spreading on 5 MHz band, and after scrambling with PN codes. Compression is done to reduction transmition rates of different multimedia datas; JPEG, JPEG 2000 or MPEG is used. When transmitting data over the air inteface the same are being protect from mistakes using hard channel convolutional or turbo coding, by intearleaving and CRC. Design of the system is based on GSM and GPRS network, and in core network ATM is used. All of that is for satisfiing the idea of IMT 2000 and realization of global network, which will make possible to mobile users using different multimedia services all over the word.
