The research scope of this thesis is the analysis of the process and technology for network resource reservation for call control protocol in the next generation telecommunication network. Since complex services in the network cannot be efficiently realized within vertical model, horizontal model is introduced and services are executed in the distributed environment consisting of number of layers in the network. This thesis addresses the network resourse reservation model and information flow in horizontal environment, with special emphasis on call control protocols BICC and SIP, resource management and data distribution for telecommunication services. Also, study includes basic principles in the layered network and, especially, call control protocol features. Different models for call establishment in the horizontal layered architecture are described too. Function separation between layers means that the different layers in network hierarchy are separated, and communicate over well specified interfaces; thus call control protocols share the resources in the lower level of the ntwork. This thesis addresses basic principles of network resource reservation. Basic analysis of the distributed services processing models in the multimodular environment are made. Realized voice call service is described and analyzed using call control protocols BICC and SIP in the real network model. Testing and verification for network resource reservation was proved in the laboratory environment using real exchange simulator.
