Abstract	U ovom radu analizirane su metode za kompresiju slika bez gubitaka temeljene na tehnikama predviđanja. Ispitan je utjecaj osnovnih elemenata metode za kompresiju: predikcijskog podmodela, kontekstaulnog podmodela greške i entropijskog kodiranja konačnih simbola, kako na eﬁkasnost kompresije, tako i na računsku složenost. U domeni predikcijskog podmodela analiziran je utjecaj funkcija predviđanja različitih složenosti na smanjenje entropije slikovnih podataka. Uvedeno je načelo tipičnih svojstava slikovnih područja i mehanizma prilagodbe funkcije predviđanja na dominantno tipično svojstvo u slikovnom području kojem pripada trenutni element. Predložena su proširenja postojećih mehanizama prilagodbe funkcija predviđanja, kao i nova tehnika prilagodbe zasnovana na klasiﬁkaciji i miješanju jednostavnih funkcija predviđanja. Kontekstualno modeliranje greške predviđanja predstavlja nužan korak u tehnikama kompresije bez gubitaka ukoliko se želi postići visok stupanj kompresije. U radu je analiziran utjecaj predikcijskog predmodela na smanjenje troška cjelokupnog modela, kao i na izbjegavanje efekta rasipanja kontekstualnih stanja. Primjenjen je dorađeni heuristički kontekstualni model greške predviđanja iz CALIC algoritma koji se odlikuje kontekstualnim modeliranjem u dva koraka. Konačno, predložena je metoda kompresije slika bez gubitaka sa aritmetičkim kodiranjem izlaznih simbola. Rezultati predložene metode uspoređeni su sa današnjim eﬁkasnim metodama kompresije.
Abstract (english)	In this thesis, lossless image compression techniques based on predictive coding are analyzed. The eﬀects of basic building elements of such compression techniques on the compression rate and on the computational complexity are reported. Regarding the prediction module of the complete model, the inﬂuence of the varios prediction functions on the reduction of the model entropy are examined. The notion of tipical properties of image regions, such as edges, textures and noisy regions, is introduced. Also, the concept of adaptation mechanism that is built in the prediction function is presented. Some extensions to the existing adaptation mechanisms are proposed, and, a new adaptation mechanism based on clasiﬁcation and mixing of predictors is introduced as well. Contextual modeling of prediction error is necessary step in the complete predictive model if the good compression rate is required. In the thesis, the eﬀect of predictive part on the model cost reduction and the problem of context dilution is analyzed. The rearanged contextual model based on the CALIC algoritm is used and examined. Finally, a new predictive lossless image compression method with arithmetic coding is proposed and compared to contemporary high performance lossless image compression methods.
