Abstract	Razvoj mobilnih sustava treće generacije predstavlja veliki izazov posrnuloj telekomunikacijskoj industriji. Pri razvoju takovih sustava trebalo je voditi računa o konačnoj cijeni proizvoda. Razlog tome su smanjene financijske mogućnosti operatera i nepoznata brzina uspjeha novog sustava na tržištu. Najveći dio financijskskih sredstava koji će operateri utrošiti na postavljanje sustava treće generacije biti će potrošen za potrebe pristupne mreže. U radu su istražene neke od mogućnosti kako se mogu smanjiti troškovi transmisijske opreme i troškovi postavljanja i održavanja pristupne mreže treće generacije.
Abstract (english)	Implementation of third generation mobile systems is a big challenge for stumbled telecommunication industry. When developing such system you have to consider final price of the product. Reasons for that are limited financial resources operators have and unknown speed of success of the new system. When deploying third generation mobile systems, operators will have biggest expenses in the access network. This thesis studies some ways to reduce costs of transmission equipment and costs of deployment and maintenance for third generation access network.
