Abstract
Neurokirurške operacije tumora mozga ultrazvučnim noževima često rezultiraju neželjenim oštećenjima inače zdravih centara. Kako bi se utvrdio uzrok oštećenja, potrebno je izvšiti simulaciju operacije. Zbog praktičnih i etičkih razloga umjesto simulacije na fizičkom modelu izabrana je simulacija na računalu. Simulacija je izvedena u dvije i tri dimenzije, matematičkom metodom virtualnih izvora, uz korištenje relevantnih valnih efekata. Rezultati simulacije pokazali su da u centralnom dijelu zatiljnog režnja dolazi do neželjenog povećanja razine ultrazvuka. Ovo povećanje može uzrokovati oštećenja zdravog tkiva u centrima za govor, motoriku i osjet. Najefikasniji način za izbjegavanje oštećenja bio bi korištenje usmjerene ultrazvučne sonde. Također potrebno je sa neurokirurgom izvršiti planiranje operacije za svaku vrstu tumora, koristeći ovu kompjutersku simulaciju.
Abstract (english)
Neurosurgery treatment of brain tumors often result with damage of healthy tissue. To discover the cause of the damage, it was necessary to make an simulation of treatment. Due to practical and ethical reason the computer simulation was chosen instead of simulation on a model. The simulation was carried out in two-dimensional and three-dimensional space. The method of simulation is virtual source model, with calculation of important wave phenomena. The results of simulation are indicating the undesirably high level of ultrasound energy in the central part of temporal lobe. This can cause the damage to healthy tissue of speech, motor and sensory functions. The most efficient method to minimize the damage is to use a directed ultrasound transducer. Also, it is necessary to make a detailed plan of a treatment procedure in cooperation with neurosurgeon, with help of this simulation.
