Abstract
Intencija je ovog doktorskog rada da se problematika korištenja informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije u hotelskoj industriji obrazloži na sustavan način i argumentirano ukaže na sve prednosti koje informacijska i računalna tehnologija pruža u suvremenom hotelijerskom poslovanju. Osnovu svega čini poznavanje informacijskog sustava, njegove funkcije i mogućnosti te zavisnosti o informatičkoj infrastrukturi, koja zbog razvijenosti i konfiguracije Republike Hrvatske nije jednako dostupna svim hotelskim subjektima. Druga važna tema koja se proteže kroz istraživanje strateško je promišljanje o korištenju novih tehnologija. Suvremeno hotelsko poslovanje ne dopušta raspravu o tome hoće li se IT koristiti, već kako ga iskoristiti za ostvarenje postavljenih strateških ciljeva i održavanje konkurentnosti na turističkom tržištu. U tom kontekstu dolazi do izražaja važnost menadžerskog odlučivanja, koje na raspolaganju ima poslovni informatički sustav, sustave podrške odlučivanju i poslovnu inteligenciju kao sredstva i alate za kreiranje odluka i vođenje. Treća je tema upravljanje odnosima s gostom, koja subjekte hotel i gost promatra kao ravnopravne partnere s mnogo zajedničkih dodirnih točaka. Sustav upravljanja odnosima s gostom, iako prvotno osmišljen kao jednosmjeran marketinški alat orijentiran na gosta kao objekt ostvarenja dobiti, sve više postaje interakcijski mehanizam u kojem gost dolazi u ravnopravni, ako ne i dominantni položaj. To mu omogućuju brojni komunikacijski kanali na društvenim medijima, što je pak poticaj hotelskom menadžmentu da pored permanentnog rada na unaprjeđenju kvalitete usluge, posredstvom informacijske i računalne tehnologije, unaprjeđuje i odnose s gostom.
Abstract (english)
The intention of this doctoral dissertation is to explain the problems of using information and communication technology in the hotel industry in a systematic way and to point out all the advantages that information and computer technology provides in the modern hotel business. The basis of all is knowledge of the information system, its function and capabilities, and dependence on the IT infrastructure, which, due to the development and configuration of the Republic of Croatia, is not uniformly accessible to all hotel entities. Another important topic, which extends through research, is strategic thinking about the use of new technologies. Modern hotel business does not allow discussing whether IT will be used, but how to use it to achieve the set strategic goals and maintain competitiveness in the tourism market. In this context, the importance of managerial decision-making, which has a business information system, decision support systems and business intelligence as tools and tools for decision-making and leadership, is emphasized. The third theme is customer relationship management, which views hotel and guest entities as equal partners with many common touch points. Although originally designed as a one-way guest-oriented marketing tool as an object of profit, the customer relationship management system is increasingly becoming an interaction mechanism in which the guest comes to an equal if not dominant position. This is enabled by numerous communication channels on social media, which in turn is an incentive for the hotel management to improve relations with the guest through information and computer technology in addition to continuous work on improving the quality of service.
